Layne Fraser Dyer: Layne is a retired Health & Physical Education teacher and life-long health and wellness advocate. After graduating from Old Dominion University and raising two daughters, she taught school in Norfolk and Chesterfield County in Richmond, Virginia. Layne is a fitness expert with certifications as a personal trainer and yoga instructor. She started teaching relaxation in 2003 on the high school level. Since that time, she has taught relaxation on the primary, secondary, and adult levels.
In 2012, she was honored by The College of William & Mary to become part of the Special Collections Research Center at the Earl Grey Swem Library. All documentation from the years 1970 to 2012 of her career as an educator are preserved at the College. Layne loves to draw and paint—something she began when her daughters were small to decorate their rooms with lovable, friendly characters—and continues today in her spare time.
