Patricia Moore Shaffer: Patricia Moore Shaffer studied drawing and painting under contemporary painters and artists Robert Creighton, Murray Kropf, and Rick Potruff, earning an undergraduate degree in visual arts at Brock University (Ontario, Canada). After college, she worked in the visual arts as a museum educator, curator, and administrator, most recently at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection (Toronto, Canada) and the Morris Museum of Art (Augusta, Georgia). Patricia now serves as deputy director for research at the National Endowment for the Arts (Washington, DC). She describes her mixed media drawings on paper and mylar as expressive "memory works" set in post-industrial landscapes and credits artists artists Edward Burtynsky, Emily Carr, Betty Goodwin, Anselm Kiefer, and Lupe Rodriguez as influences on her work. Patricia moved to James City County with her husband Cliff after completing her doctorate at William & Mary.
