Priscilla Stultz: Artist statement – Fiber is my life. I am always working on something. Inspiration comes from everywhere: colors that I see in the world, landscapes on my travels, shapes-whatever catches my eye. I love the feel of the fiber and the smell of the paint and dye that I use in my creations. I continue to learn new techniques from reading, videos, and experimentation. Life is full of fiber joy. Bio – I began sewing at an early age; making clothes and wall hangings. I majored in Textiles at JMU and graduated in 1970. I made clothes for all my children, myself, and my husband. Later in life I saw my creations walk the runway, hang in museums and galleries, and grace the pages of publications. I create in my studio every day either hand dyeing and painted or cutting and stitching. I am blessed with a supportive husband who is always cheering from the sidelines.
