Pine Needle Basket Workshop

   AWK-323-   /  Tuesday, 1/21

         Location: WCAC - 110 Westover Avenue
            Times: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
            Course Fee: Non-Members $110

            Instructor: Becky Butler

Coiling pine needles is a fun and creative way to make a unique basket from nature!  

In this small workshop (limited to six students), Becky will teach you how to start a coil, attach it to a base, add needles and thread, shape the sides and finish the coil.  Each student will  make their own color and style choices and complete a small pine needle basket.  Intermediate students will expand their skills by also learning how to embellish with beads, use different stitches, or add a handle.

Lunch Break:  Please bring your own bagged lunch to this workshop - we have a refrigerator on premesis.

Supply fee - $10:  Please pay this fee to Becky at the beginning of the workshop.  It will cover all materials needed to complete a small pine needle basket, including choices of centers and thread.

Linoleum Cut Workshop

         Location: WCAC - 110 Westover Avenue
            Times: 10:00 am - 4:00 p.m.
            Course Fee: Non-Members $175
            Members $150
            Instructor: Steve Prince

In this intense hands-on workshop participants will be exposed to the limitless process of creating original Linoleum Cut Prints. Students will learn the history of relief printing, composition techniques, how to safely carve the block, and how to print an edition of prints with and without a press.  We will also cover expressive color applications to make “unique prints.” No prior printmaking experience needed, just imagination and an open mind. 

All materials will be provided.  $25 Materials Fee
