This beginner course is for those who took the Part 1 course with me or for those who already have a little experience.  It is a continuation of the first part offering the basics  and more of working with acrylic painting. We will continue with foundations including still life, portraiture, figures, landscape painting and some loose or abstract pieces. We will paint on quality papers as well as canvas surfaces. After this course, students should feel comfortable with handling the acrylic paints and be able to work on their own in order to transition into more advanced lessons and techniques.

Students must bring the following items with them to class: a mixed media (preferably hardback) sketchbook (8x10 or larger) for notes, sketching, and journaling; a water container, and a roll of paper towels.

A $10 supply fee will be collected by the instructor in the first session, in addition to a list of supplies for individual purchase once enrolled.

Questions, Enrollment Deadline & How to Enroll:  Contact Michael Jones, Art Center Manager, by July 1 at (757) 229-4949 or to register and make payment.
